Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Reportedly Has Currency Packs

4.4
Twitter user SciptLeaksR6, who recently leaked the pre-order bonuses for the single-player open-world fantasy game Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora, has struck again, this time revealing that the game will launch with a season pass, welcome pass, as well as currency packs. The user has also shared tidbits of information that look like what you regularly see in the game's store description (the leak has since been removed for copyright infringement).

No word yet on what these passes will contain, but it's safe to assume that they'll give players access to free power-ups and cosmetics, allowing them to start out with better equipment and better-looking outfits than those who just bought the game.

The other leak also lends credibility to the theory that the game will rely on "gear" in some form, as it says that players will be able to customize their character, craft gear, and play around with their skills and weapons to find the playstyle that suits them. Additionally, players can choose to channel their inner Na'vi or human side, as the lead character in the inspiration movie is a hybrid of both - an Avatar.

Opting for the Na'vi side would enable players to employ traditional weapons like bows and spear-throwers, while relying on the human side would pave the way for more modern FPS gear such as assault rifles and shotguns, according to the leaker.

We use the word FPS because the game is confirmed to be a first-person experience in full (via an old Ubisoft interview), which is a direction the company decided on early in the development to deliver maximum game immersion. Ubisoft also mentions Banshee riding (dragon-like creatures), but the interview does not make it clear whether these Banshees would serve in combat or just for traversal purposes. The leak makes it clear that the game will involve some sort of aerial combat using the Banshee.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was supposed to be released sometime in 2022 to coincide with the release date of the new movie Avatar: The Way of the Water, but according to the company's Q1 earnings call last year, the game has been pushed back to sometime in 2023 or 2024. “We want to make [Avatar] a video game industry brand,” Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said on the earnings call, as reported by The Verge. “It is important for us that we come with something that is perfect," he concluded.
