God Of War Ragnarok Now Has 3-Hour Trial Access On PS Plus Premium

3.7
The official PlayStation Store page for God of War: Ragnarok has now been updated with a new trial option, allowing all PlayStation Plus Premium members to play the full game for up to three hours for free, with the option to carry over the progress after purchase.

God of War: Ragnarok was the most praised exclusive launch of PlayStation in 2022, and now it receives a free trial over three months after its launch. Ragnarok is the fifth first-party PlayStation product to receive trial access after The Last of Us Part 1 Remake, Horizon Forbidden West, MLB The Show 22, and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.

Keep in mind that game trials are an exclusive feature for PS Plus Premium members, but in case you are interested, you can upgrade your current subscription tier to Premium at any time by paying the fee difference. A Premium subscription also gives you access to legacy PlayStation titles from older consoles.

With its outstanding performance back in 2022, God of War: Ragnarok was the end of a trip to Norse mythology for the series, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the end of the franchise. In an interview after the launch, game director Eric Williams clarified that it is unlikely Santa Monica releases a post-launch expansion for God of War: Ragnarok. However, the game could still add up to its financial numbers with a future launch on PC similar to its predecessor.

Despite the fact that God of War: Ragnarok released 3 months ago, the game has yet to receive any form of discount yet. So, if you are dubious about making a purchase or are new to the God of War series, this new trial could help you decide on whether or not to buy it.

With the recent release of Ragnarok, the next step for Santa Monica Studios remains as a mystery. It was rumored earlier that Cory Barlog, the game director behind God of War (2018), was leading a new IP in the studio, which might feature a fantasy theme, but it could probably take some time before we get a clear announcement on the studio's next project.

Why not? Gets people interested, gets people talking, and when it doesn't lead to a sale, people have enjoyed trying out your game!
