Forspoken's Huge File Size, Pre-Load Date Revealed

Anyone interested in playing upcoming open world action-RPG Forspoken will want to make sure that they have enough storage to download the game, as it's going to be a whopping 87.275 GB at launch. Forspoken will be a next-gen only game when it launches later this month, and as one might imagine from a next-gen only Square Enix game, it's going to be rather graphically intensive.

Forspoken trailers have proven that the game is going to be graphically-impressive, but these high level graphics come at a price. 87.275 GB is quite large and will take up a significant amount of space on one's PS5 storage. For comparison, the Forspoken file size on PS5 is bigger than God of War Ragnarok, so it's going to be quite a large game come launch later this month.

Besides confirming that Forspoken's file size will be a whopping 87.275 GB at launch, PlayStation Game Size also confirmed that those that pre-order will be able to start their pre-load on January 22. This isn't a ton of time in advance, but it should still go a long way in ensuring those looking forward to Forspoken can play it at launch without having to wait on any big downloads.

Forspoken has received a mixed reaction since it was first announced. While there's been a lot of praise for its impressive visuals, fans have taken issue with Forspoken's dialogue and writing, likening it to a cheesy superhero movie. Others have taken issue with Forspoken's gameplay and aren't convinced that the game will be worth the price of admission at launch.

Square Enix released a Forspoken gameplay demo ahead of launch to give fans the chance to try the game for themselves. While playable demos can potentially convince people to buy games that they were otherwise on the fence about, the Forspoken gameplay demo seems to have the opposite effect.
