Apple is reportedly planning to launch its AR/VR headset in fall 2023

Apple‘s long-anticipated AR/VR headset will reportedly be released this year.

That’s according to a new Bloomberg report, which claims the mixed reality device will launch in the fall of 2023 following several delays.

The headset has reportedly been in development for seven years and Apple is said to have originally targeted a 2019 launch.

The company is expected to unveil the device this spring ahead of its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

The headset is likely to be called ‘Reality Pro’ and its operating system will be publicly named ‘xrOS’, it’s claimed.

“While Apple still has many kinks to work out with the device —involving hardware, software and services, as well as how it will be marketed and sold — the company is banking on the product as its hot new introduction for this year,” according to the report.

Bloomberg previously reported that Apple‘s mixed reality headset will include a 3D video service and its own interpretation of the metaverse.

It also claimed the device will cost between $2000 and $3000 because of its built-in Mac-level M2 chip, more than 10 cameras and the highest resolution VR display yet produced.

Its most recent report claims Apple’s focus on the headset and its xrOS operating system may result in fewer new features in iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, the next major software updates for iPhone and iPad respectively.

Lord... Seven years in development.
I imagine the technology has bypassed their plans several times in that space of time!

I'm really interested how Apple implements their design into the VR space, they're so gaudy currently so how they Apple-fy this will interesting. I'm betting we're going to see another Google Glass type product.
