Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 Trophies Won't Transfer to PS5

3.4
Developer CD Projekt Red seems to have finally started to make decent progress with regards to making Cyberpunk 2077 the game it was meant to be. Cyberpunk 2077 players have mostly been happy with both the latest update to the game and its next-gen upgrade, however, players upgrading from PS4 to PS5 have noted what could be quite a serious issue for some gamers.

CD Projekt Red recently noted on its website that trophies earned on the PS5 when playing the PS4 version of the game via backwards compatibility will not transfer to the PS5 version of the game. This means that players will have to earn these trophies all over again, which can be exceptionally disheartening especially if a trophy took a lot of effort to earn. CD Projekt Red has stated that this is owing to the fact that the PS5 version of the game has a different Stock Keeping Unit (SKU), and therefore trophies will not be able to be transferred.

The strangest thing about the situation is the fact that Cyberpunk 2077's latest update allows players to transfer their saves, but unfortunately, not their trophies. Other changes that the update brings to the table are that PC players can now enable Variable Rate Shading (VRS), allowing players to boost the rendering performance and visual quality of the game, players can now customize V's starting apartment as well as their appearance, and some actions performed inside the apartments can now apply temporary buffs.

Some changes CD Projekt Red made to the PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 include the fact that the game's file size on the console has nearly been cut in half. The file size of the game decreased from nearly 100GB to 59GB. The visual quality on the PS4 version of the game has, unfortunately, been downgraded in order to allow the game to run smoother on the older console.

CD Projekt Red recently showcased how Cyberpunk 2077 will look when running on the next-gen consoles. The next-gen version of the game looks visually impressive, as both console versions now feature 4K resolution with dynamic scaling and ray tracing, as well as other smaller improvements.

The Cyberpunk 2077 update has seemingly been rolled out at quite a bad time considering that multiple AAA releases have come out or are soon to come out. Many gamers will likely be busy playing these new releases and will likely not pay much attention to the fact that many of the game's previous issues have been fixed.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

It's because the game itself was a disaster when launched (still is),
so to this day, it has affected the trophy transfer ability

On Xbox I used to love when developers would do this, just means double the gamer score.
