Activision claims to have resolved a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone bug which was making Battle Passes appear inactive.

As reported earlier this week, some players have complained of being unable to level up their Battle Passes following the release of a major Modern Warfare and Warzone update released on April 28.

“We’ve resolved an issue with the Battle Pass appearing inactive for some players,” Activision Support tweeted on Friday. “Battle Pass progression and rewards were not affected. Thank you for your patience. Hit us up if you are still experiencing this issue.”

Players have long complained of Modern Warfare and Warzone XP problems. Prior to Warzone’s release in March, developer Infinity Ward said it had resolved an issue where XP wasn’t being awarded after Modern Warfare matches, but some players – including VGC readers – have continued to experience progression problems in the months since.

Infinity Ward lists details of known issues on its Modern Warfare Trello board, which currently has separate listings for the aforementioned inactive Battle Pass bug and reports of players not receiving XP, both of which were added on May 4.

Progression is unified across Modern Warfare and the free-to-play Warzone, which share the same Battle Pass. You don’t have to own Modern Warfare to play Warzone or purchase the Battle Pass, which costs 1,000 COD Points (about $10/£8.50) and has 100 tiers of content for players to unlock.

A Modern Warfare and Warzone update released on Friday introduced Shipment 10v10, 3v3 Gunfight Knives Only, and reintroduced helicopters in Battle Royale, which received a new playlist called Stimulus Solos.

Activision announced on Tuesday that Warzone has attracted over 60 million players since releasing on March 10, while 2019’s Modern Warfare has sold more copies and has more players “than any prior Call of Duty title at this point after its release”.

The publisher also said the next premium Call of Duty game, which is expected to be a Black Ops title from Treyarch, “already looks great and remains on track for release later this year”.
