The soundtrack comes with 44 tracks, but the entire album is currently available for free listening on Bungie’s YouTube channel. While free is always a plus, purchasing the full album on Bungie’s official store will provide a digital download that includes digital liner notes from the composers, as well as the in-game player emblem “Resonant Chord.”
Composed by Destiny alums Michael Salvatore, Skye Lewin, C. Paul Johnson, Rotem Moav, and Pieter Schlosser, the same choir-heavy and battle-ready drums beats are heard throughout the album. Overall, it retains the cinematic feel of most Bungie games, which is to be expected.
For players who don’t know how narrative arcs work and want to believe there’s something to be spoiled from a story about finding the Light, don’t look at the title tracks, as their short phrases hint at things like hope and resolution. For those hoping for more in-game content, Bungie has been slowly revealing many events coming down the line for Guardians, including the sequel’s first raid and DLC expansion.
Destiny 2 is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC release coming on October 24th.
