If you live in Los Angeles, and are at least 18 years old, and you know your way around a God of War game, and you're capable of signing a Non-Disclosure agreement, then this is one heck of a coincidence. Sony is currently looking for people matching that very description to come check out Kratos' next handheld adventure: God of War: Ghost of Sparta, this Thursday. Exclusive PlayStation 3 games are not system sellers. At least that’s what new research from Nielsen Games tells us. And not only that, the release of a new title is actually said to be the least motivating factor when picking up a new console; consumers place far more weight on Blu-ray, price reductions and the console’s online capabilities. The survey that produced the results ...read more

As it did on the Xbox 360, Modern Warfare 2’s Stimulus Package downloadable content has broken both day one and week one records on PlayStation Network. As written earlier, the content’s release on May 5 was the reason behind PlayStation Network’s “biggest day to date,” but now we can attach a number to that success: 1 million +. We struggle to find anything else to say about the Fallout: New Vegas boxart that's been revealed via the Bethesda Blog. Depicting a single New California Republic Ranger standing alone (you know, the guy from the first trailer?), he wields his pistol, presumably ready for any ne'er-do-wells lurking. Or maybe he's just showing his gun to us? We can't imagine it's very impressive, what with all ...read more

It seems we'll all have to be a little more careful before we mock PS3 owners that have voiced concern over Sony's decision to remove the "Install Other OS" option from the console (via a recent firmware update). "What nerdlinger would be so bent out of shape about that?" you might wonder aloud. As we've just learned from Ars Technica, that nerdlinger happens to be the United States Air Force. ...read more

As if one lawsuit regarding the removal of the Other OS functionality from the PlayStation 3 wasn't enough, two more class-action suits have been filed against Sony, reports IGN. Earlier this month, Todd Densmore and Antal Herz (of Georgia and California, respectively) filed a class-action suit against Sony, alleging that firmware update 3.2.1 (which removed the Other OS feature) made various ...read more

Not satisfied with offering its games through a variety of retail options worldwide, Ubisoft today launched UBIShop (pronounced "you-be-shop"), a direct-to-consumer avenue that offers boxed and digital copies of the French publisher's games. (The online store would appear to be unaffiliated with closely-named ubishops.ca, the web home of Bishop's University in Quebec, Canada.) To jump-start ...read more

Things have been quiet in regards to Nathan Drake's death-defying (yet impeccably animated!) leap from video games to film, but the LA Times reports that may be changing. The paper says director David O. Russell (of I Heart Huckabees fame) is in early talks to bring the Uncharted franchise to the big screen, though he's reportedly not the only name on the list. Our friendly advice to the ...read more
