Virtually every aspect of Destiny 2 has received substantial upgrades over the years, with some of the biggest improvements having been delivered during Bungie's transition from the original Destiny over to its sequel. However, some features haven't been quite so lucky until now, with the devs seemingly ready to bring yet another outdated piece of user interface to the next level.
While the news of Destiny 2's season pass price increases has been met with disapproval from the community, Bungie seems to be eager to win the fans' favor over once again, this time through long-awaited UI upgrades. Notably, the devs' new Season 21 weapon tuning blog has revealed that players will, at last, be able to spin the weapon models around to get a good look at them from all sides. This upgrade also extends to the game's selection of ships, each of which will now be fully shown off for the fans' viewing pleasure.
Though this improvement may appear trivial at a glance, the simple fact is that Bungie hadn't implemented it until now, and players are happy to finally be able to check out the Bungie 3D artists' work from all the different angles. Items such as Destiny 2's Exotic Thorn hand cannon will now be far more interesting in the inventory screen, and the feature should help bring all the unique weapon and ship models to life like never before.
It's also worth highlighting that the ability to rotate weapon models is just one small reveal featured as part of Bungie's new weapon tuning preview for Season 21. The devs have also used the opportunity to preview a huge array of weapon changes coming as part of Season of the Deep, with further improvements to reticles being a notable upgrade. Broadly speaking, players should expect something along the lines of Bungie's previous Destiny 2 Season 21 armor tuning overview from the latest blog post.
As exciting as in-depth weapon previewing may be to a subset of Destiny fans, potentially even more interesting are the rumors that Destiny 2 may introduce fishing in Season 21. Though the only current source of this rumor are leaks, they do come from a person responsible for some of the highest-profile leaks the game's ever had, and it's not going to be a long wait before players discover if they're true.
Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
