According to a new blog post on Steam, the team is hard at work on getting the game ready for launch by the end of the year and as a result this week’s update will be the last. However, there are plans to push a number of updates to the game’s test server to try out a number of features that will be in the final game, including vaulting, climbing, and the new desert map.
“Through these test servers, we would like to conduct large scale tests for the content and features that are not in the live build and create a foundation for a very stable official launch,” the post explains.
The test will be split into three phases over the next couple of months that will focus on vaulting and climbing, new features, and all of the content that will be in the game at launch.
“The content and features that will be in test servers need to be tested for at least 2 to 4 weeks,” developer Bluehole explains. “It will be very difficult for us to provide a stable service if we rush updates to live servers after short bursts of testing. As we would like to go through rigorous testing to prepare for official launch, we will not be updating new content to live servers and run test servers for a longer period of time instead.”
As mentioned above, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds final update before launch will go live later this week on PC, adjusting loot balance and fixing bugs.
