How to use the gradient tool in Photoshop
1. Open Photoshop (any version works)
2. Open a new document
3. Select the gradient tool (12th tool down)
4. Make a staight gradient: Hold the SHIFT key and make a straight line from one side to the other.
5. Make any other gradient: simply drag the line in any direction you would like to apply the gradient effect.
