Immediately after driving across the small wooden bridge with water on both sides, you will come through a frozen cave with two seals at the end (the seals that move and hurt you). Behind the seals is a wall with a yellow street-banner and black arrows on it. For the shortcut you must jump over this wall! Doing so requires a boost. One way is to do a jump (hold R1) just before the two seals at the cave exit to gain a jump-boost. If you miss the boost, simply drive back and repeat until you can make it successfully. Alternatively, you can also try getting a Turbo Boost power-up from a box and use that to gain enough speed.
