Arcade Game Series: Pac-Man
Om Nom Nom Trophy
Om Nom Nom Trophy
Trophy Description: Eat 2 fruits and all four ghosts in succession four times in a single round!
Trophy Type: Gold.
Text Guide
This is easily the toughest trophy in the game, requiring either a perfect run or some skilful manoeuvring. This is most easily done on the first stage and requires that you collect both of the fruits that will appear and take full advantage of all four of the Power Pellets in the level.
There are a few ways to achieve this and I'll go over all of your options here.
Option 1: Perfect Cherry Pattern
There are a number of patterns in Pac-Man which will lead to a perfect stage completion. The first and most well-known is the Cherry Pattern and the following information relates to a perfect pattern (collecting all dots, all fruit, and killing all 4 ghosts with each Power Pellet).
If you're interested in the Perfect Cherry Pattern then check out my video guide below, where I show the pattern and explain some key points.
The Perfect Cherry Pattern is one of the most elegant things you can do in an arcade. Learn it, find a time machine then go back to the 80s and show off to all your new friends. There are a few ways to go about this but the method I show in the video above is arguably the safest, as with some skill and knowledge you can adjust your position to account for any slight mistakes and loss of speed later in the run. If watching videos isn't your thing, then you can use the images below to see the path you should take:
The following images are in the order of the steps you should take. I've broken them into a fairly large number of images so they are digestible chunks. Your goal is to memorize the steps and follow them exactly. If you're having trouble, you can take advantage of the short load after unpausing the game to follow step by step with the images. Basically, complete a step (image), pause, review the next image, unpause, repeat:

Option 2: "Wing it" and maybe cheat a little
If memorizing or following patterns isn't your style, you can always attempt to earn the trophy by luring the ghosts to each of the Power Pellets and taking them by surprise. This is riskier than the method above, but may be right for a lot of people, as playing perfectly for 50 seconds can be pretty tough.
There are a few things in the PS4 version of the game you can take advantage of:
1: When you pause and unpause the game, it takes a moment to load and for Pac-Man to continue moving (note that this may be a glitch or otherwise unintended, as it does not happen on the Xbox One version of the game). You can take advantage of this slight load time to make your next move more perfectly, allowing you to shave moments off of your overall time and maybe avoid a ghost or two.
2: The game has a "Save and Quit" feature. With the PS4's save backup system, you can take advantage of this feature to save your progress after each successful 4 ghost combo, back it up then keep loading that save whenever you fail. This can be pretty tedious as you have to restart the game every time but overall it can save a lot of time if you're not overly good at Pac-Man.
3: The trophy itself only requires that you to complete the requirements during a single level, not a single life. In the game's menu ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) you can go to "Game Settings" and set Lives to 5 (rather than the default 3) to give yourself that extra edge.
