Score Crusher Trophy
Score Crusher Trophy
Trophy Description: Win the gold medal in all Freestyle events.
Trophy Type: Gold.
Text Guide
This can be tricky. There are 10 Freestyle events. In each Freestyle event, you are given 90 seconds to earn as many points as you can. You earn points by performing stunts. The more advanced the stunt, the more points you earn. You can also build up a combo meter by completing several stunts in quick succession, but crashing causes your combo meter to reset.
To win the gold medal in each event, you will need to perform a large variety of stunts (performing the same stunt multiple times earns you less points), keep your combo meter high, and try not to crash. The not crashing part can be difficult due to the somewhat awkward controls, particularly when performing air stunts. The best advice I can give is to hit ramps head-on instead of at an angle and make sure your watercraft is level before you hit the water.
For this trophy, choose a watercraft with a high stunt ability. You are probably going to need to retry each event several times before getting the gold medal score, so try to find a route that you feel comfortable with. Ideally, you want to be able to hit a jump every few seconds to keep your combo meter going. In between jumps, you should perform a water stunt if the waves arent too high. You can also mix stunts in the air. For example, you can perform a Superman ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] + [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) while doing a Backflip ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) which will increase the amount of points you receive.
I found the hardest stages to be Sunshine City, Alligator Swamplands, and Oil Rig. The waves in Sunshine City are deceiving, so be careful with water stunts. Aim to have at least 1500 points after clearing the ramps in front of you at the start of the event. For Alligator Swamplands, I recommend making a sharp right hand turn as soon as the event begins and going counterclockwise around the perimeter of the stage, hitting every ramp along the way. Going forward at the start only puts you in a bad position. Oil Rig is difficult because there are no ramps, the waves are massive, and you need a whopping 7000 points. The goal here is simply not to crash. You need to get that combo meter up to x2 or x3 and keep doing air stunts. Don't even bother with water stunts here.
