This is an extremely simple tutorial that will help you take advantage of the Motion Blur tool.
It's a very nice feature and I like the look of it!

  • First of all, open up Photoshop CS6.
  • Second, create a new project and choose the dimensions you wish to use. Today, I'll be using 500x500 pixels.
  • Use the paint bucket tool to create your background layer. Use any color you want. I'll be using dark graphite color.
  • Now, you're going to want to find an object that you want to blur. I'll be using text for starters, because it's simplest.
  • After you have your object you'd like to blur, duplicate the layer and convert it to a smart object.
  • After converting it to a smart object, rasterize the layer. You can do this by right-clicking the object.
  • After that, click on the "Filter" tab and navigate to Blur > Motion Blur.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

  • Once you've clicked on that, a window like this should appear.

  • Adjust the distance to your liking, and then your image should appear like this:

If you want to adjust how blurry the object is, simply adjust the Opacity of the object.

And that's all you need to know to start blurring your objects in Photoshop!
