This isn't for a slim, sorry.

In my situation I had a game stuck in my jtag when it got red rings, I couldn't open the drive to get it out and didn't have the equipment nor the confidence to open it up and remove the full disc drive. This little trick I saw works wonders;

Step one: remove faceplate by putting your finger into the usb slot & forcing the bottom out, after this slide your hand up pulling the whole faceplate off;

Step two: Unravel a paperclip

Step three: Put the paperclip into one of these two holes(depending on your model, just try both)

It should then open your drive:
