Today I will be showing y'all how to install linux distros. There are many ways to go about doing this. One of which is to know which distrobution you would like to install and simply navigating in your favorite web browser to Google (or whatever search engine you prefer) simply search for the distro of linux you would like and find the download link. Or you can go the route of downloading a simple program called [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] within this site you will find the link to download the program.

-With the first method I listed as googling your distro of choice you will then be able to decide whether you would like to burn the .iso to a cd or use a USB to do the job. If you decide to burn the .iso to a disc find yourself using whatever disc burning utility you would like to, then simply wait until the disc is done burning. If you would like to use a USB as your method of choice you will be able to use unetbootin as well. Go into unetbootin and browse to the file directory in which you downloaded your .iso of the linux distro to. Next you will simply decide to either use either putting the .iso on a USB or simply attaching it to your HDD and being able to install without either a USB or a CD that you have created.

-You can explore unetbootin and find that they give you the option of choosing a linux distro that they have attached into the coding of the program allowing you to download through the program any distro of linux they have pre provided for you.

-You will then continue in which ever method you have chose whether that be CD, USB, or Flashed to your HDD

-Restart your computer
(Skip Next Step if you flashed to HDD)

-If you have decided to use either CD or USB you will need to press whatever key it says to press for Boot Sequence or Choose Boot Option (Usually F12) Then you will press enter on either CD or USB once again which ever you have chosen to use. It will then boot from whatever you have selected depending on which ever distro you chose will differ in further instruction of installation most every distro will be very self explanatory. Unless you have chosen more of a developer taste of linux in which case, you shouldn't be reading this tutorial because you would not be needing help if you were planning to use such a distro.

-You will later in the installation be given the option to either wipe your HDD clean and install fresh with the distro you have chosen or to run it along side which ever OS you are currently running on the computer (Up to you and what you want to do). Unless of course it is Windows 8. I will put out another tutorial later for that!

**Side note you can choose to just run the distro without installing to see what it is like (Test Driving it if you will)

-I personally would say Elementary OS, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, or Cinnamon would all be great choices for a linux noob. (I run Elementary OS, Ubuntu, and Windows 8.1 all on the same computer)

Thanks and I hope this tutorial helped! If you have any further questions be sure to ask! I will post pictures/possibly a video if needed!

Peace Out TTG!
