In this tutorial I will show you how to hack hill climb, this can be done with iFile on a jailbroken device or with iFunbox on a computer with a Jailed device (not jailbroken) or Jailbroken
This will enable you not only to hack yourself any number of coins, but you can change the level of your upgrades for each vehicle and the high scores on each level with each individual vehicle.
Obtaining UserDefault.xml on a Jailbroken Device [iFile]
Open iFile (you can find it in the repo.hackyouriphone.org repository)
Go to Applications on the left side of the screen
There will be a cog at the bottom to open the settings, click that, File Manager, and turn Application Names on
Find Hill Climb, go into the Documents folder and open the UserDefault.xml
You can edit this in iFile, but I find that it is slow and inconvenient. You could email this to yourself and edit on a computer, then email it back and replace it, however you want to.
Obtaining UserDefault.xml on Jailed/Jailbroken device [iFunbox]
Download and install iFunbox: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Connect your iDevice to your computer and close iTunes if it automatically opens up
Open iFunbox and wait for it to recognise your iDevice
There should be a section to the left that looks like a file browsing tree, navigate to "Raw File System" and go to var\mobile\Applications/Hill Climb\Documents\UserDefault.xml
You can move the UserDefault.xml onto your computer for editing.
Once you have finished the modifying, simply replace the existing one on your device through iFunbox again.
Modifying the UserDefault.xml
The file you are editing is an XML (Extensible Markup Language) file, it consists of tags and data, like so:
<tag>
<tag2>DataDataData</tag2>
<tag3>MoreDataDataData</tag3>
</tag> The format in the UserDefault.xml file is quite simple, the tag is the thing that the data represents, you will find one like this:
<coins>16426</coins>
You can edit this like so:
<coins>9999999</coins>
This is very simple and is how you will change all of the values, some of them are named slightly different from "coins", but you will be able to understand them if you have a brain:
<countryside_highscore> = the high score on the countryside stage
<xmas_onewheeler_highscore> = the high score with the onewheeler vehicle on the Xmas level
<racecar_downforce> = the level that downforce is upgraded to on the racecar ...You get the idea!
