Welcome

This post will contain information to make yourself a overall better player. Take the time to read through this guide to get all the information you need!

Team Work:
Halo has always been a game that required team work to be good at. Getting your teammates backs, and communicating all the time. Be sure to warn your team when enemy's are approaching, and make sure to not get mad when you get those assist's. Because even though you didn't get the kill, you still have the points to win the game.

Call Outs: have been extremely useful for halo for a very long time. All halo maps have a spot that will be named. Once you are familiar with these call outs make them stay in your head forever, no matter the playlist you are doing. They are very useful when you see players across the map, you know exactly what to say and your teammates no were to go. Many MLG players use call outs and they are very useful, To let your team no were the enemies are. And remember the text near your rador are preset call outs, so try and learn those.

Weapons: There are tons of weapons in halo as all of you may know. Their are certain types of weapons. Like power weapons, automatic weapons, precision weapons, and more. Players like to go for the power weapons since they are usually the stronger weapons that people call you a "noob" for using. Automatic weapons are very useful to. Since they are very good close range and work good for the spray and beatdowns. Precision weapons are most affective long range as they have a nice accuracy and do good damage. But if you get rushed be sure to switch to your pistol or a automatic weapon.

Camping: People have hated campers from the beginning of FPS. The reason is new players like to rush into the open parts of the maps were somebody is hiding and has the major advantage of killing the enemy. Camping is a good thing to do and camping being bad should get out of peoples minds. The point of a game is to work as a team and win the match, and camping can be a way to do that. People usually stick to corners when they have weapons like the sword, invisibility, shotgun, sniper, and more.

Warm ups:
There is many ways to warn up before doing a public match or competitions. People like to warm up before matches so they don't do bad. Doing a private match with your friends is a great way to wake up and get ready to kill some noobs. And if you don't care about k/d just hope right into publics.

Straifing: This comes so handy in halo you don't even know. if you do not know what this is you most likely die a lot. This term means to move left and right so your opponent struggles to get decent shots onto you. This will come in handy a lot so be sure to master it and always do it.

Team Shooting: This because very important in slayer type matches. This helps kill the enemy almost instantly. All your team shooting at one person will no doubt take him out in a quikey. So remember when you see a person shout at your team to come and help.

Flanking: This becomes very useful in halo reach with the new armor lock. When your team is under fire he can easily go into armor lock while you come behind the opponent or dead on and take him out.

Radar: This has always been a amazing item in halo. You can always follow the radar usually to your opponent. Always keep a eye on your radar for incoming players and know when you need to book it or stay and fight.

Class Attributes: When you start a game of halo reach in a public match there will be classes, each class has a weapon, secondary and a armor ability. Each ability does something different and you should know what they do and what they are good for.

Scout: Scout is personally my favorite. You get a spring that last's a few seconds. it is very good to run away from foes and jump a further distance.

Jetpack: Jetpack is a ok ability. It is good for small maps but you can easily get killed when flying around the skys.

Invisibility: This ability is good when you like sneaking around the map or hiding in corners, as it is very hard for players to see you while staying still. and once they pass you, you strike!

Evade: This ability makes you jump to the side. this is good when you are trying to dodge attacks or are under fire and need to make a great escape to a rock or something.

Shield: This ability is very good when players are using power weapons against you or your team is in trouble. you can put a bubble type shield around you so you can be safe and get a good heath recharge.

Armor lock: This comes in handy when your under fire and need to immediately get cover, so you can go into this lock so players can't hit you. but a warning to you is when you come out of armor lock somebody can be waiting to kill you.

Hologram: This comes in handy when you want to fool other players to get the fire off you. Players fall for this ability A LOT.

Hiding Spots: Spots are very important when playing halo. Each maps has hiding spots that you can stay at and people can't find you, and right when they are in your site you kill them. Here is a video showing you a view.

Sniping: Sniping is one of the hardest things to do in Halo 3. It takes tons of practice and hours of playing to get good. Actually, some people never get better. Their foundation is built on bad habits. I've decided to come up with a set of guidelines help you.
-Always move around. Never sit in one spot, no matter how good you think it is(and it probably isn't). Players are just too good now to stand there. By moving, you make yourself harder to hit.

-Always aim for the head.

-Check your motion sensor. It's best to stay zoomed out until you see someone or your radar detects someone. When sniping it is best to quick-scope. To do this, just center your crosshairs on the enemy before you zoom in. Once your view is magnified, adjust the crosshairs a bit and score a head shot.

-Unless you're skilled with the sniper, please do not try to use the sniper in every situation(i.e. in close and the enemy has a shotgun).

-Only take good shots. This kind of goes with the point above. Do not jump of a building and try to no-scope someone across the map. You are not a pro. Take shots that you know can make with confidence in success.

-Aim with the left thumbstick(that means strafe). It keeps the targeting reticule steadier. Use the right thumbstick only for minute adjustments to get that needed head shot.

HaloPosted:

I know this is old but it can still be useful. It sets the foundation on how to be good on any halo game for that matter
