E3 2016: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Announced for PS4, Xbox One and PC

4.6
It was leaked earlier this week, and probably more than a few gamers saw it coming anyway. During its E3 press briefing Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Definitive Edition for PS4 and Xbox One.

The game comes out on October 29th, and brings back the latest The Elder Scrolls game in a shinier guise, unless you’re a PC gamer, on which case your Skyrim probably already looks as shining as it can thanks to a million of mods.

The good news is that following Fallout 4’s example, mods will come to consoles even with this new remaster, even if there will certainly be more limitations compared to the PC version.

Sank so much time into Skyrim but maybe with the remaster, I might feel like playing it a little more though I'll probably just end up changing the look of the game completely anyway.

Graphics enhancements for Skyrim have been around on PC for a while. Can't wait to have a legitimate graphical enhancement that won't crash on me or give me huge performance strain.

Sucks F4 DLC is coming to an end, but I don't mind investing another 1000 hours into skyrim

-Deano Its funny that they are giving this free to PC players because they know that we already have mods to do what they are releasing. They known we aren't going to be stupid enough to pay for the same game.

Mods releasing on console is a cool addition to the game though.

I see it more as a way to get PC modders to make mods for this version so they can be ported to consoles. All the best mods for the current one usually require SKSE so they won't work on consoles.

I enjoyed Elder Scrolls: Skyrim enough that I sank so much time in to the game that it was comparable to my game time of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at the time. I will most likely buy this as I would love to see how much better it looks and plays. The only two issues I have about the game is the bugs, hopefully they, or at least the game-breaking ones will not be present, and then there is the price, I wouldn't really like to pay any more than I had to for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

I enjoyed playing Skyrim but not sure it's a game i'll be picking up on next gen. Depends how much the price is though really.
