Samsung unveils the Galaxy J3 Pro

4.3
Samsung has unveiled the latest addition to its vast range of Android devices, the Galaxy J3 Pro. The new device is a lower-mid-range handset, and will go on sale in China later this month.

The J3 Pro stands out from many other lower-cost smartphones by offering metallic bodywork. Samsung said last year that it intends to differentiate its devices by offering slimmer designs, premium materials, and wider use of high-definition displays.

At 8mm-thick, the J3 Pro isn't the slimmest handset out there, even in its price range, but it does offer a solid set of specs with which to attract buyers, including:
5-inch Super AMOLED with HD (1280x720px) display
Quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor
2GB RAM
16GB onboard storage (plus microSD card support up to 128GB)
8MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording at 30fps
5MP front-facing camera
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
NFC
Bluetooth 4.1
4G LTE connectivity
Dual-SIM support
USB 2.0 port
2600mAh battery
142.2 x 71.3 x 8mm; 139g

Unfortunately, as SamMobile points out, the device is shipping with last year's Android 5.1.1 Lollipop onboard, rather than Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which has now been available for eight months.

The Galaxy J3 Pro will launch on China Telecom in the coming weeks, priced at 990 CNY (roughly $150 USD).

Still prefer Apple, always wanted to give Samsung a try but I can force my hand on it.

Looks like an almost exact copy of the iPhone 6...

Looks decent but still nothing has convinced me to move away from Apple.

too bad Apple is better lmao

That is one beauty of a phone. Whenever my contract with this iPhone ends, I'll have to make the switch to Android. I have a 128GB SDHC card in my broken tablet that needs to be used.

Looks pretty neat. I still have a older iPhone so it's time for a upgrade.

I'm a huge Samsung fan - good to see they are releasing more products!

So there's not much of a difference then compared to the 2016 version of the J3. We sell the J3 and J5 in our Phone Shop for the same price, but the J5 is a much better phone so I tend to steer customers away from the J3.

Supervisor Samsung is on a roll. They come out with their devices quickly.

I wouldn't say that's necessarily a good thing

Samsung is a good company, IMO. They released the high end S7, and this is just the low end variant of this rollout for those not wanting/unable to spend the $800 USD on the S7. A good phone, for cheaper. That's all it is.

I'll probably look into getting it..I'm running a Zmax 2 right now, and it's very cheap..Very slow..Barely any customization options..
