Xbox One price drops to $299 ahead of 'slim' console rumor for E3

4.5
Microsoft has cut the price of Xbox One consoles and bundles by $50.

The 500 GB version will now run you $299 while the 1TB is now $319.This price reduction also applies to various bundles on offer.

For example, The Division Bundle 1 TB bundle is now $349 instead of $399. These’s also the Quantum Break bundle available for $299 which comes with a white Xbox One.

Whether this is a temporary reduction or permanent is not known as of press time.

An updated Xbox One console is expected to be 40 percent smaller than the current model. While Microsoft's console price drop looks temporary, it could be a permanent move to position the smaller successor at a higher price point and sell off existing inventory of the current Xbox One model. Microsoft is also expected to launch two new Xbox streaming devices at E3 next month, with rumors suggesting one will be Chromecast-like and the other more of a set-top box for casual gaming, apps, and streaming Xbox games from a full Xbox One console.

I thought the leaked rumors may have been false but my thoughts have changed after reading this, looking forward to seeing the slim console.

Would be nice to have a 4k console to go with my 4k tv but the price has to be right, i left the xbox one a year before I bought it

I'll probably end up buying an XbOne some day. The 4K console sounds promising so I might go for that.

I hope they release a new slim model, because I have been considering on whether or not I'll be an Xbox One or not. The original version is a lot larger than the PS4, and there is also plenty of other things that can't be done on the original Xbox One that can be done on the PS4, and it's the same the other way around. If they do release a slim model, sometime down the road, I'll end up picking one up, but if they don't, I think I'll just stick with my PS4.

Lost I hope there aren't any overheating issues with the slim console. I don't mind having a larger console. I can see why some people would want it though.
I think there would be some issues with it overheating so I really don't plan on getting it.

No there probably wouldn't Microsoft has learned form the past also look at the size of the PS4, rarely any heat issues in that form factor.
