Battlefield Devs Slam Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Trailer

4.4
It’s a big day for Call of Duty, what with the Infinite Warfare trailer having dropped and details about developer Infinity Ward’s latest effort finally being revealed, but it seems not everyone was impressed with the latest Call of Duty’s trailer. More specifically, the people from DICE, the makers of the Battlefield franchise have gone on Twitter to react to the Infinite Warfare trailer, and it’s not your usual empty tweets of platitudes.

DICE Video & Media Editor Roland Smedberg reacted to the Infinite Warfare trailer on Twitter, calling it “quaint.”

]
In case you didn’t know, this week has started with a bang which many first-person shooter fans are excited about. It’s also set to end with fireworks, with the new Battlefield game announcement stream. At the end of the week we should know exactly how each game compares in setting and style of gameplay.

It seems the competition between Call of Duty and Battlefield remains as fierce as ever. What do you make of these comments? What did you think of the Infinite Warfare trailer?

Getting both games but IW just for cod4 remastered, since you can't buy just the remastered cod. :/ And for the new BF I'm looking forward to it, for years it had a more longlivity than any recent cod can offer.

I'm interested in what they're gonna show off, especially since BF 4 had more longevity than CoD Ghost or BF Hardline, even though it launched broken.

Damn guess we'll have to see what they bring to the table this week. The way they're talking makes it sound like they're going to blow IW out of the water.

agoon IW seems confident people won't be playing MWR more than IW. They clearly don't know their community then. People have not only been asking for a remaster, but to go back to the past or present. The fact that IW is far into the future already puts it at a disadvantage. I did read that there will be maps on different planets. That could actually be interesting; but the pace at which these games play at now are much more faster and ridiculous than the early installments.

Agreed, it's way to fast paced than it should be. I can't even enjoy playing multiplayer anymore because people are just flying and running all over the place like it's a MW2 super speed lobby. Plus these maps are way to small and crowded, not very friendly for snipers like older COD's were IMO. Kinda hate to say this but I am starting to miss the campers and noob tubes.

Quaint: "attractively unusual or old-fashioned." I'd like an old-fashioned COD. I'm sick of this flying futuristic shit, I want boots on the ground, always. Unfortunately Infinite Warfare will have some sort of thruster as seen in the trailer but that's okay because Infinite Warfare is just a bonus game when you preorder MWR (Modern Warfare Remastered) and I probably will barely play it.
