Battlefield Devs Slam Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Trailer

It’s a big day for Call of Duty, what with the Infinite Warfare trailer having dropped and details about developer Infinity Ward’s latest effort finally being revealed, but it seems not everyone was impressed with the latest Call of Duty’s trailer. More specifically, the people from DICE, the makers of the Battlefield franchise have gone on Twitter to react to the Infinite Warfare trailer, and it’s not your usual empty tweets of platitudes.

DICE Video & Media Editor Roland Smedberg reacted to the Infinite Warfare trailer on Twitter, calling it “quaint.”

In case you didn’t know, this week has started with a bang which many first-person shooter fans are excited about. It’s also set to end with fireworks, with the new Battlefield game announcement stream. At the end of the week we should know exactly how each game compares in setting and style of gameplay.

It seems the competition between Call of Duty and Battlefield remains as fierce as ever. What do you make of these comments? What did you think of the Infinite Warfare trailer?

Honestly as a non biased opinion I do feel they made a huge wrong turn in regards to where Call Of Duty is heading in the future of gaming. No pun intended. But I do feel they need to, once again, listen to the community.

But it is true. The graphics are pretty aweful.

They are? Are you sure? There's plenty of other games that will be released this year that probably don't do nearly as much with their graphics. Some games coming out with an "art" style bullshit remark meaning they won't have to focus on their graphics nearly as much. I'm sure CoD's graphics aren't the best but they're still pretty damn good compared to many other games.

You've actually contradicted yourself, you claiming that COD infinite warfare has good graphics from what is essentially a pre-rendered cgi ridden trailer is "good graphics", so what you are actually judging is the art style therefore it doesn't and there is currently no way to know the graphics capabilities of this un-released COD. So many people don't understand the true meaning of graphics, they go "oh it looks really HD", that is still art style not graphics, you can play super realistic Minecraft but that doesn't require good graphics capabilities.
