Battlefield 5 Has Made A World War 2 FPS Dev “Beyond Excited”

4.6
Battlefield 5 is widely rumored to be releasing by the end of this year (though with Titanfall 2 also apparently slated for that same window, it is hard to see these rumors being true). Regardless of when it launches, however, the fact is that the game exists- and if some of the rumors and rumblings we have been hearing about it are actually accurate, then it may end up being the best game in the series.

That sentiment of excitement seems to be echoed by some people in the development community, too. Joe Brammer, the executive producer of World War 2 first-person shooter Battalion 1944, recently posted a tweet (since deleted, but preserved for posterity on NeoGAF) about his impressions on the new Battlefield– which he has apparently seen.

“I’ve seen things #BF5 things and I am beyond excited,” the tweet read, before it was deleted. A lot of fans are speculating that this tweet being made by Brammer implies that the series may be returning to its World War 2 era stomping grounds- which would put it at odds with a lot of the rumors that claim that Battlefield 5 will be set in World War I.

Whatever Battlefield 5 is, we will find out soon- EA are probably going to take the wraps off of DICE’s newest project at E3 this year.

BF:BC2 Vietnam was the best thing since the invention of the Hot Dog... So I cannot wait for a new one to arrive with the newer techs of today.

If it's true for release at the end of the year then bring it on.

i'm glad we can all appreciate the past. i know wwii was not a great time in history, but it is still history and we need to cherish it.

Im seriously excited if it is back to past wars, this is where current games are going wrong, a lot of people prefer historic warfare to this jumpy jumpy future shit which game devs seem to keep pushing.

I'm so hyped to have a new battlefield. Hopefully we will see and hear more about this at E3.

Sadly if its WW1 or in the future. Im sorry it will not last. Make it WW2, Vietnam, or modern. WW1 would be cool for a little bit but i don't see it lasting and if its in the future, then they're choosing the worst time to make a futuristic game.

Please DICE, you were on a role on the battlefield series, Visceral Games sadly may have hit the curb but i have my hopes.

Would be more then excited to see Battlefield 5 set in World War 2!

I have a vague feeling this will be like some kind of 'Time Travel' WW2 Era game. Where you're sent from the future with high-level tech/Etc. Hope not.

It's 2016, and people still think it's a good idea to set a game into the future. People still think a WW2 game would be "oversaturated". "People" are retarded.

If BF5 isn't set in modern time or set before so, it's gonna be trash. Cod is set to be in space this year too.. wtf
