Sony comments on cross-network play for PS4

On Monday, Microsoft made the news after announcing cross-network play for Xbox One. Suffice to say, everyone shared in the excitement.

But what about those of us on PS4? Gamespot reached out to Sony asking if working with Microsoft would be something they’d be interested in.

“PlayStation has been supporting cross-platform play between PC on several software titles starting with Final Fantasy 11 on PS2 and PC back in 2002,” they responded. “We would be happy to have the conversation with any publishers or developers who are interested in cross platform play.”

While they didn’t mention the Xbox One specifically, dancing around naming competitors seems to be commonplace. Microsoft only went as far as “other console [networks]” in their announcement, so there’s hope yet.

I really don't understand why just one console is made... SO much work with different friends on different consoles and having to port games. Just work together...

Seam Could be good, but honestly the reason people play xbox is for the gaming community, people on PS4 are straight up plebs that are terrible at any multiplayer they play. So will be interesting to see it happen.

Would be cool and all, but what would happen to both Microsoft and Sony financially?

Fingers crossed this does happen although doubt it as the sales would increase for the Xbox One.
