Cross-network play is finally happening on Xbox One

4.6
The director of ID@Xbox One, Chris Charla announced that cross-network play is finally coming to Xbox One.

Cross-network play means you can play between Xbox One and Windows 10 Xbox Live games, as well as you’ll be able to play with friends on other consoles and PC networks.

This feature will be up to the developers if they want this in their game. If Xbox One players only want to play with those on the same platform, then that option will also be available to them.

We will see this feature first with Rocket League, which we expect to see the feature later this Spring.

This is great news. Just now have to hope that developers come on board with this.

OmittingCoder Looking forward to destroying console gamers in FPS games lol. Seriously though this is really good news.

Lol "destroying" you really think your gonna destroy Console players Specifically in a FPS shooter good luck.

Pc gamers have a decent advantage over console gamers. A mouse is way more precise

See to me it's not, I always use a controller whenever i play FPS games as i find i am always out doing Mouse players & occasionally get asked if i use mouse and keyboard. Where as i use a Mouse i always seem to struggle trying to aim and always lose accuracy.

Will be interesting about how this will work, really excited for it regardless! :D

I do hope that most developers allow this, can't really be a negative for the community.

This would actually be insane.

XeXHoop so if they all get together if any company gets there servers down everything will be down or will it just be who ever is on the servers

The servers will be hosted individually by the company's, EG:Microsoft,Sony&PC will be hosted separately. But if the games server goes down all consoles/PC will be unable to connect till the company fix the server.

Basically, if sony goes down "cough" the PC & Xbox players will still be able to play but playstation wont in till sony fix the server or visa versa, But when a game like Rocket League All servers will merge so basically their will only be one server joined my Xbox,PC,Playststion.

But in all seriousness here, this shows that Microsoft is putting away the Console war by enabling players from other platforms such as PC,Playstation to share the exsperiance between one another & i believe this would be a great way to finally stop the console wars and stop the bickering between PC,Playstion,Xbox because this is truly a great thing to do, Hopefully sony will jump on board and get involved.
