Cross-network play is finally happening on Xbox One

4.6
The director of ID@Xbox One, Chris Charla announced that cross-network play is finally coming to Xbox One.

Cross-network play means you can play between Xbox One and Windows 10 Xbox Live games, as well as you’ll be able to play with friends on other consoles and PC networks.

This feature will be up to the developers if they want this in their game. If Xbox One players only want to play with those on the same platform, then that option will also be available to them.

We will see this feature first with Rocket League, which we expect to see the feature later this Spring.

Yin This could very well give games longer life spans as long as just make the gaming community better in general. I hope game companies and Sony go along with this for more than just a few games. It would be cool for friends to exist on different consoles and for actual competition among the platforms. I mean, there really is no good reason for games that are made basically exactly the same to be divided due to what console you play on. I can see PC since there is the apparent issue with mouse and keyboard being more accurate, but the consoles should totally be able to play together.

totally agree mate, this will ruin console gaming

You agree but say it will ruin console gaming? I think this will help console gaming. This is an improvement. It may be bad if PC is allowed to play consoles in first person shooters due to the accuracy of mouse and keyboard, but this is great for consoles overall.

Carbonite This opens up brand new implications of RGHing and jailbreaking. The best part is that they cannot even see it.

You're looking at the negatives here, And not the positives.

I'd love for this to happen. It would bring so many more players to older games if 3 platform are able to play it together.
I also can't wait to be playing and FPS and being pitted against PlayStation players. They're so bad so it will just make it an easier game and I'll have more fun if the players are worse.
(Inb4 upset Sony fanboys)

Would be so unfair on most shooters, with a keyboard and mouse PC players will destroy console players. Would work well on games wheres everyone uses a controller like FIFA.
