Metal Gear Solid 5 sold rather well to retailers, according to Konami’s latest financial figures.

According to the firm’s report, for the nine months ending on December 31, 2014, Metal Gear Solid 5 shipped 6 million units worldwide. The figure includes both physical and digital formats.

The firm noted the 6 million as sell-in, which in financials terms denotes units sold to retailers.

Konami also said sales of PES 2016 were meaningful as were sales of its popular mobile title Jikkyou Pawafuru Puroyakyu.

Sales for the company’s digital division were up 37.5% from ¥67.9 billion to ¥93.4 billion year-over-year. Profits for the division were also up year-over-year from ¥10.7 billion to ¥25.5 billion.

Thats a lot of copies considering how crap the game is.

Game was complete crap with story but other than that gameplay was top tier so fun to mess around hours upon hours of random shit.

This franchise has never let me down, always puts out games I've enjoyed, not too surprising to me to see they are having this much success, they deserve every bit of it.

This was a fun game to play, even though I never really was a fan of MGS.

I'm gonna have to go check this game out now!

Was my second MGS game and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the hell out of it.

I played the game and didn't really enjoy it as much people did. Good for them though!

I wasn't expecting such high figures for this game. That's impressive.

Dang that's crazy I need to try this game

Definitely deserves it. I've been playing this series since MGS3 was released, was an amazing game when I was younger, even though I had no idea what the hell was going on :)
