Major League Gaming to continue as normal after Activision buyout

4.6
After recent news of Major League Gaming selling all of its assets to game publisher Activision Blizzard, it is said that MLG will continue operation as normal.

CEO Bobby Kotick said the acquisition is part of Activision Blizzard’s plan to create “the ESPN of eSports”. A press release that went out yesterday tells us what Activision Blizzard has in store for MLG moving forward.

"MLG will continue to operate MLG.tv, MLG Pro Circuit and GameBattles platforms, and will continue to work with its partners and other publishers across the industry."

Activision Blizzard said this purchase expands its reach across eSports by "adding proven live streaming capabilities and technologies to the Activision Blizzard Media Networks division."

Activision Blizzard speculates that the eSports audience will grow to 300 million by 2017.

MLG co-founder and CEO Sundance DiGiovanni is joining Activision as part of the deal.

Well that's good to hear, I guess it would of been dumb for them not to continue as normal, I'm just glad they are continuing.
