Xbox One Elite Controllers Selling Out "Instantly"

4.6
Originally announced at this year’s E3 2015, the Xbox One’s Elite controller has been a pretty hot ticket item at many retailers despite its high price tag, with the majority of major retailers selling out of their stock of the controllers quite quickly, as Xbox’s Phil Spencer noted in a statement.

Speaking to fans through Twitter, Xbox head Phil Spencer spoke on the availability of the Xbox One Elite controller in stores since its release in late October. As Spencer congratulated a fan’s photo of their newly-obtained Elite controller, Spencer stated that “we keep shipping more in but they sell out instantly.”

Spencer’s statement reflects that, hopefully, Microsoft is aware of the Elite controller’s high demand, as the major game retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Walmart, and more have consistently sold out both online and in-store shipments of the controller, and even Microsoft’s own online store have been out of stock.

While the standalone controller (normally retailing for $149.99) has been hard to come by on store shelves and online, Microsoft has offered an alternative to getting it with the Xbox One 1TB Elite bundle, which packs in an Xbox One console with the Elite controller for $499.99. However, hopefully with Spencer’s statement, the Elite controller’s high demand can maybe lead to more stock of the controller in the near future.

The Xbox One Elite controller is available now.

Much better than a scuf. The paddles are just much easier to get used to and it's an all around better build. Feels more durable.

Even with all the reviews and stuff I've heard about this I've never felt the need to pick one up. My buddy has a scuf and I've tried it out but couldn't make use of the paddles or anything because I play claw already.

Need to pick one up before the holidays. Heard good reviews on them

These are actually amazing! My elite controller came through on Monday and I instantly fell in love. Literally everything on the controller is customisable and removable. 100000x better than a SCUF.

This controller is pretty cool! But wouldn't mind just using the stock one to be honest.

Emi I'd just get a scuf, they look cooler xD these just seem like a waste of money imo

Let me just say you are dumb, Waste of money?! A xbox elite cost 150$ (retail) yet the scuf comes out being 250$+ for a controller that can't be modify like the microsoft one. Also a scuf comes with a 90 day warranty after thats over and your scuf breaks you will need to pay 20-60$ for service... and the elite comes with a year of warranty and if you get it at bestbuy you can get warranty for like 2 years

Not surprised, i bought one for me and another as a Christmas present :)

This is one of those things I would buy just to have, I most likely wouldn't take advantage of its full use. And for how steep the price is I won't be buying one any time soon.

The price for these are ridiculous in my opinion.
