Gran Turismo 5 to receive both a Collectors and a “really big package” editi

It’s been over five years since Gran Turismo 5 was announced, and to help recoup some of the cash that’s been sucked into the black hole that has been the GT5 development cycle, there will be indeed be a Collectors Edition of the game when it launches on November 2nd. A $99.99 CE has already been announced for the US market that will include a die-cast Nissan GT-R replica, a 300 page book, a key chain, and a few downloadable cars.

However, Sony Computer Entertainment India’s Atindriya Bose has let slip that Polyphony Digital’s latest game will be pulling a Halo 3, as a even more luxurious version of the game is on its way as well.

“For GT5, there are two collector’s editions. One is the game plus some added content and collectibles, which (has already been announced), while the other is in a really big package with a lot of paraphernalia that goes beyond the game,” said Atindriya in a recent interview.

The contents of Sony’s big package hasn’t been announced yet, but a listing on Amazon France calls for an ‘Ultimate Edition’, which is priced at 189.95 euros, which translates to way more money than any game is worth in US dollars.
