Xbox 360 games are region-free on Xbox One

4.6
The guys over at Xbox Achievements have posted a rather interesting find. It appears that the Xbox One is able to play Xbox 360 games, regardless of their origin.

For those who have not experienced the previous era, the Xbox 360 had NTSC-J games for Japan, NTSC-U for North America and PAL for Europe.

Currently Xbox 360 games on Xbox One are region free and therefore not bound to a certain region.

Xbox Achievements went on to say 'there are five games of the initial 104 that have "stackable" achievement lists. You can play Japanese versions of Borderlands, Gears of War 2, and Just Cause 2, the German version of Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and the European version of Wolfenstein 3D. As more games are added to the backcompat program, likely more stackable versions will be playable as well.'

Pro Happy that they will be region free , this Will be good because people can just get any game they want and not have to look for their specific region

That's pretty sweet , I wish Xbox 360 had a bit more players, the Next gen is swooping all the players away.

kinda cool i guess. wish they would make microsoft currency cards region free i na sense what i mean is have them redeemable anywhere and it just transfer to the currency for the region on the account.

That's pretty cool that they're not region locked but I don't see how it matters to begin with, just buy games that are meant for your region.
