Call of Duty: Black Ops II still has 12 million monthly active users

4.5
Activision will be confident ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops III's impending release. Recent announcements from Activision and EA have revealed that 2012’s Black Ops II receives more monthly active users than EA’s previous two Battlefield titles combined.

The average figure of 12 million monthly active users was taken over the last quarter, which is incredibly impressive considering the game is only available on PC and last-gen consoles.

Among the accolades that the ageing FPS can boast are a place on Steam’s top 100 most-played games list.

Arguably Activision’s favourite piece of news will have come from competitor EA. The Battlefield publishers recently announced combined monthly active user base for Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline of 6 million. That’s half the users that the three-year-old Call of Duty: Black Ops II can claim.

Wish there were more active people on the PC side. I can't find a zombies game to save my life. FML. Should've never sold my Xbox.

Miss That's because it's the best post-MW2, non-modded Call of Duty out.

And thank God for it, Treyarc's anti-cheat system is the best one around.
