Fallout 4’s End User Licence Agreement Says All Mods Must Be Free

4.4
Fallout 4’s End User Licence Agreement states that all mods must be distributed for free.

Bethesda already tried the paid mods option with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and they were the first developer to take advantage of this in Valve’s Steam. It didn’t go well and they had to close it within a week, but now, they are doing the good thing from the start.

Pro I dont really see how modders would benefit from this anyway, it doesn't seem like the Call of Duty series where you can level up and get different perks or guns and camos... It just seems like the type of game that would be ruined if you already had everything handed to you on a plate.

Yeah the game is totally different playing it, with mods. I always say play the game first before you ever decide modding it, to get that full experience.

weird agreement in my opinion i assume no one will listen to it anyway. but most mods are free anyway. also heard they have a section in game just for mods or that they were thinking about adding one or something to that effect.

ChangsITSupport I think this is a good thing, charging for addons that aren't even made by the devs is a bit cheeky.

I definitely agree with you on that.
