Will PS4 ever be backward compatible with PS3 games? “No,”says Yoshida

4.5
Sony has reiterated it has no intention of bringing backward compatibility to PlayStation 4.

Head of PlayStation Europe, Jim Ryan, said as much back in June, as did Sony Worldwide boss Shuhei Yoshida.

The earliest PS3 model was backward compatible with PS2, but wasn’t “greatly used,” according to Sony.

“PS3 is such a unique architecture, and some games made use of SPUs very well,” Yoshida said at the time. “It’s going to be super challenging to do so. I never say never, but we have no plans.”

At Paris Games Week, Yoshida once again said Sony didn’t have plans to include backward compatibility, by stating “no” when asked.

So, there we have it then.

This is why I don't like PlayStation
I want to see what improvements they will do to make this up to PS players

I never play playstation anyway , not as many people play on that console so the feature is not required.

the people actually can force them to do it. if alot of the PS4 community complained and stopped using their PS4 in protest to get them to make it B.C., they would sure as hell do it.

I can understand why, making games backwards compatible on the PS4, from the PS3. The systems have 2 completely different architectures, and it would be really difficult to make games backward compatible, kinda like what Microsoft is doing with the Xbox.

The PS3, and PS4, ain't like the Gamecube and Wii. The Wii, was a more powerful gamecube. The Wii was the exact same architecture of the Gamecube. There was only a few differences, one being the CPU clock speed was set to a higher clock speed on the Wii. They had the same GPU, and the Wii had some more ram.
