PS4 firmware update 3.00 is coming this week

Sony has announced a release date for PlayStation 4’s 3.00 firmware update.

Firmware 3.00, the currently-in-beta system update for PlayStation 4, has a release date.

The new update will go live Wednesday, September 30, Sony has announced.

Codenamed Kenshin, the firmware brings a lot of changes and additions to the console.

Find the most updated change list below:

Sharing videos to Twitter – Share videos directly to Twitter. Videos can’t be longer than ten seconds
PlayStation Plus section – There’s now a dedicated section for Plus that shows membership status, monthly free games and deals, as well as all the games you’ve previously redeemed through the service
Streaming gameplay to YouTube – Just like with Twitch and Ustream, you can now livestream gameplay to YouTube
PNG screenshots – You now have the option to save uncompressed screenshots in the PNG format
Events hub – This new area gives an overview of in-game activities and allows you to register for them
Communities – You can create communities and invite PSN users to them. These can be based on anything you choose
Stickers – You can now send stickers in messages

In addition, messaging has been improved with the addition of ‘groups’, a new feature that allows you to add or be added to groups of players to make it easier to reach them.

The other important change is increasing the online storage capacity to 10GB (from 1GB) for all PS Plus members.

Just doing the update now, these are some nice features which will be used a lot. Came rather quick too!

Wait how aren't they beating them? They have way more sales than the Xbox One? I'm just trying to look at it objectively, and that's the only scale on which you can assess a console's success, right? Unless you guys think just because you own an Xbox One and not a PS4 that it suddenly means that Sony is 'losing'? I don't think either company is losing, they're both winning. But when it comes to success, then the PS4 wins. Sorry fanboys.

I agree with you 100%, I hate that because somebody owns a console they think it is the best console in the world, with no evidence to back it up. The Playstation News is just full of people who own Xbox's saying "xb1 is better m8 lol ps4 sucks"

I've got to give it to them, the events thing is amazing. This update was needed for those other little bits, I can't really moan it was a very quick update as well. That was one thing I hated on the PS3/360 was the firmware updates.
