No single-player campaign mode for Black Ops 3 on PS3 and Xbox 360

4.6
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will only have multiplayer and zombie mode on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The announcement popped up on the Call of Duty community blog, and states that, “The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware.”

So if you pick up Black Ops 3 on PS3 or Xbox 360, you’ll only be able to play the multiplayer mode and the zombies mode.

The last gen versions will also be lacking in “features built to leverage the next generation hardware like the new Weapon Paint Shop and the new suite of eSports tools [which] will only be available on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.”

With that in mind, the RRP for the game on older platforms is $49.99 and will include a “bonus download for the original Call of Duty: Black Ops (bonus download availability may vary by region)”.

I don’t know that many CoD players care that much about the campaign, so is the absence of it something that they’ll be upset about? Should we all have switched over to this gen already anyway, almost two years into this console cycle? Let us know what you think about this move in the comments below.

Zer0 they want people to move to the next gen thats all

No, they just aren't letting last-gen limit their game quality. I think this game will be crap, but at least it will be current-gen crap.

Think this is a bit of a surprise really, didn't expect this! Bit gutting for those that are affected by this.

Horizex Call of duty is nearly dead the missing campaign is going to throw a good amount of gamers away from purchasing this game because not everyone enjoys the CoD multiplayer but play for the storyline

This game isn't even close to dead. Just because you or your friends don't play it doesn't mean millions others don't either.

Isn't even close? I remember back in Mw2 days there was like over 600,000 players on Xbox 360 alone. Now on release there's maybe 100k or something. It's dropped really hard. Most games now ( even AW ) only have about 30k or lower.

they need to go back to their roots and make a remake or something like old traditional call of dutys

I doubt it will, it's not really dying although the last 2 games have been poor, BO3 has been done by the best of the 3 (Treyarch) and they have had 3 years development on the game so they've been able to have a lot of experience with the power of the current gen. And I wouldn't pay £45 quid for a campaign that is short.
100k players on release? Think that's a bit of a lie.
AW got very boring very quick imo.
Think they was planning on doing a remake or you have the possibility to play the games through backwards comparability in the future. Also, people complained that CoD was the same every year so they changed it up.

Just because people don't play the game online doesn't mean it's dead. COD Advance Warfare was still the best selling game in 2014.
