Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is free on Origin

4.6
Classic RTS game Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is currently available for free via Electronic Arts' "On the house" scheme.

You get the full package, both campaigns -- Red Alert 2 and Yuri’s Revenge -- and it’s yours to keep forever.

The only "catch" is you’ll need to sign up for a free Electronic Arts account, if you don’t have one already, and then install EA’s Origin to download the game. But that doesn’t involve much more than providing your email address, and everything else is handled more or less automatically.

The Red Alert 2 storyline follows on from the first game, pitching the Allies and the Soviet Union against each other in a range of missions from small and stealthy to fast-paced, full-scale multi-unit battles.

There are also various smaller "scenarios", quick skirmishes which you can use to learn the game or if you’ve only a few minutes to spare.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is available now, although EA warns "On the House specials can appear and disappear at any time", so don’t wait -- go grab your copy now.

Is this game one of those old nostalgic games that everyone loved playing as a kid?

ODST I hate looking at all these comments on here calling this game trash, it really tears me apart. This game was released in 2001 so obviously the graphics will be much less than what we think of good standards today. Here's the catch: the gameplay is amazing, it's westwood's near swan song, and the campaign is hilarious. It's still regarded as one of the best RTS games ever (along with Generals, another command and conquer title).
Try this game out guys. It's free and the best part is is that it is an actually good game that is free. The picture they have on here isn't even from the game, it's from a mod.

Agreed, I remember playing this game when I was young (back in the day) with my father. It brings back great memories. I find that the nostalgia from playing old games often makes them more entertaining than the latest AAA titles.

this game is literally my childhood. About 2 months ago I bought the "C&C Ultimate Collection" for this game and for Red Alert 3. If anyone is intererested in playing add me on Origins: 'JRMHCNSK'!
