Apple iOS 9 is available to download now; watchOS 2 delayed due to bug

4.5
Last week, Apple hosted one of its most significant launch events for some time, unveiling a wide range of new and improved products, including a new Apple TV box, the giant iPad Pro, and the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

Alongside its new hardware, the company is also releasing updated software, including the latest version of its mobile operating system - and today, the rollout of iOS 9 begins.

iOS 9 brings a wide range of improvements and additions over previous versions, such as enhanced multitasking features and deeper 'intelligence' for Siri. While it will be pre-installed on Apple's latest devices, iOS 9 is also being released for many of those already available:
iPhone 4s
iPhone 5
iPhone 5c
iPhone 5s
iPhone 6
iPhone 6 Plus
iPad 2
iPad 3rd generation
iPad 4th generation
iPad Air
iPad Air 2
iPad mini
iPad mini 2
iPad mini 3
iPod touch 5th generation

Shortly before the rollout began today, it emerged that the previous release, iOS 8, has reached 87% of devices since its release last September. Whether or not iOS 9 beats this adoption rate remains to be seen - but it's not the only big update the company has lined up.

Apple has since confirmed that watchOS 2's rollout has been postponed, saying that the bug will be fixed 'shortly', but it didn't offer any more specific guidance on when it will be ready for release.

Heard mixed reviews about this update. Some saying not much new, and some saying its amazing. Can't wait to see a jailbrake, and tne bugs to be fixed. Then I will update-

Hall_Monitor How long till someone jailbreaks on ios9??? May be longer as i hear people say that apple has boosted security on that. Correct me if im wrong

well it's just like any other device. Just because there is a security boost doesn't mean it's going to be that difficult to jailbreak. Also To be honest a "security boost" might have nothing to do with jailbreaking it might just be for any useful information on your phone

Well, im not the most techy guy, so i didnt really understand what the security part did... but didnt apple say they were trying to fight against jail breaks?? Someone help me +50 rep

They are trying to stop jailbreaking, but it simply isn't possible. Basically it is just different coding. When the new coding comes out it just takes a little bit to jailbreak, but it will for sure be jailbroken. You can count on it within the month I would say, but don't worry about a jailbreak never coming out.

I'm super disappointed about the watchOS being delayed, I am pretty excited about it, I love the nightstand feature, and the ability to show time lapses and photos as your watch faces. The extra commands for Siri should be nice too.
