Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer won't have map voting or veto system

4.6
It looks like Microsoft and 343 Industries are taking the Halo series and shaking it up to bring players a new experience. Halo 5: Guardians won't be featuring splitscreen or LAN support in the game's multiplayer or campaign, there are some that agree with this and some that don't.

It turns out that Halo 5 won't have another feature from the games of old -- there won't be any map voting and veto system. Replying to fan questions on Twitter, Josh Holmes the Studio Head at 343 Industries revealed that the maps would be using a simple rotation process.

Holmes did not specify whether the maps would be randomly selected or maintain the same set rotation over and over again. If it's the latter, it's no better than the voting and veto system - in that system we had the chance of experiencing the same map, over and over and over again, but at least we felt like we were in control. With a set rotation we get to experience the same rotation of maps, a random selection would be so much better.

This kind of sucks, then again, you don't have this option in many games.

We barely had a story for 4, what can we possibly have now that they are disassembling multiplayer? Soon you won't have guns in multiplayer and only pickaxes to mine ore and build a sub-par quality log cabin.

I kinda like this new development in halo. Now we wont just be playing the favorite map, we well be able to play every map.

The game come back in MLG and focuses on eSport so it will be playable on LAN.

Splitscreen was a good thing on Halo 1. It's old and none cares nowadays expect from a very small percentage.

Splitscreen is just old tech which only a small percentage would use. Veto system is out of date (oh hello, CS) and barely anyone votes anyway.

Good streamlining.

I would say 90% of the people who comment on news dont read the post.

This news is more upsetting than the fact that you cant vote, only ever see like 2-3 people vote. I play all halo maps as they are generally all good.

I'm not against this. I personally rather it be random though. I hope it isn't the same loop over and over again. I played way too much Haven on Halo 4 to not be ok with this, lol.

JoyfulMods I actually like this, everyone on Halo votes the same map lol, so u can never get a chance to play a different map or a different map u like that others don't like so much . :P

i def agree, the master chief collection all they do is pick Halo 2 maps. Absolutely the worse. Plus itll put them up in which all other FPS have simple map rotation. Even Destiny which is a Bungie game has simple map rotation.
