To say that there is obvious influence from 2K Marin’s previous game seeping into their latest project is an understatement. If you squint your eyes enough you might actually mistake this XCOM trailer for a BioShock one. Beyond that, what we see here is a departure from the XCOM series as a whole, bringing players into the first-person perspective and making it a shooter. A far cry from the game’s isometric tactical roots. Regardless of that fact though, XCOM appears to be shaping up to be a wild thriller full of crazy alien shenanigans and plenty of things to shoot at. Too bad it won’t be shipping this year.
