Fallout 4 won’t launch with modding tools

Fallout 4 will support mods on PC and Xbox One – but not at launch.

In an interview with IGN, Bethesda VP on marketing, Pete Hines, has said that the team’s “entire focus is on finishing the game”.

The plan is to focus on the quality of the game first, and the mod functionality after release. “Nobody cares about mods if the game sucks. This has always been our philosophy. We shift energy to construction tools, the creation kit, and all of that stuff once the game is done, and we start to figure out what all of that is going to look like.”

The promise of mod support in the Xbox One version of Fallout 4 has been a unique selling point for the game, which is due for release on November 10. Xbox One users will not be able to create mods themselves, but will be able to download mods created with the PC version of the game. It’s unclear how long modders will need to wait until mod tools are worked on and made available.

Bio Still a good quality game in general. I do think users will get bored after awhile though.

I dont think users will get bored.. There will be SOO much new stuff and the map is going to be SO much bigger and basically no load times lol i know i wont get bored

I LOVE the fallout series i played through the campaign almost 7 times.. Literally.. but after that i started playing with Xbox mods and PC mods for fallout 3 (i hated fallout new vegas)

But cant wait for my PC to be built and i can run Fallout 4 Perfectly

I don't mind about this. Give people the chance to play the game and then when the mod tools come out after the game is released more fun and time to spend playing the game. :D

Makes sense really, get the game to the best it can be then let the community do what they want, some of the user made Skyrim and Fallout mods are simply amazing so I expect the same from Fallout 4.

Modding in games almost always makes them more fun. Just look at the PC version of GTA. It became much more playable with all of the mods people could implement into the game.
