Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Has Increased Console Sales

4.6
According to Xbox Head Phil Spencer, backwards compatibility is boosting Xbox One sales as demonstrated by the great month of June for Microsoft. Backwards compatibility has been announced at E3 2015 and is now in beta, only available for those who are part of the Preview Program.

Based on what Spencer said to a fan, it looks like many Xbox 360 users were only waiting for this kind of news to "make the jump" and buy a new Xbox One for their home gaming.

Curiously enough, later on another fan tweeted he and his three friends have traded in their Xbox 360 for Xbox Ones, and Spencer personally said thanks to them in sign of appreciation.

Backwards compatibility is bringing 100 Xbox 360 games on Xbox One when it launches this fall, and by holidays the program will make another 100 titles available for fans to try.

The Xbox One will become a two in one console once backwards compatibility is released to the public.

MacMiller I am so happy to see they are doing this. Zombies can't be an xbox 360 thing only

Hopefully our favorite games are backwards compatible.

I would love it myself, but I doubt that would happen.

This is nothing that was surprising to me. Everybody I know is either waiting for price drops or backwards compatibility.
