Samsung unveils the Galaxy A8, its thinnest smartphone ever

4.7
Next month, Samsung is expected to launch its new Galaxy Note 5 flagship, but today, the company quietly added another device to the upper end of its range. The new Galaxy A8 is technically a mid-range handset, but features some pretty decent specs - and it also happens to be the thinnest smartphone Samsung has ever released.

The Galaxy A8 is just 5.9mm thick, but still manages to squeeze in plenty of desirable features. Its key specs include:
5.7-inch Super AMOLED with Full HD (1920x1080px) resolution
Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) processor
2GB RAM
16GB / 32GB storage options (plus microSD card support up to 128GB)
16MP rear camera
5MP front-facing camera
Bluetooth 4.1
NFC
Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n
3050mAh battery
Dual-SIM option
Fingerprint sensor
158 x 76.8 x 5.9mm; 151g

RepPower Always had iphone. Might consider getting this one, looks beautiful

Look into Windows stuff instead. I just got a MacBook Pro because I love how well Apple products work together (I have my MacBook, a Hackintosh I built, and my iPhone). Windows 10 1-upped Apple's stuff by A LOT assuming you have all windows gear. I am pretty hyped about it.

Thanks for the heads up. Will look into. I also love my iphone. Has never given me problems ever since i got it. Android on the other hand gave a bunch of problems.

gtNickPez129 the thinner the phone the bigger the case..

Not necessarily, if the phone is built out of a strong material that can withstand shock, drops, and bumps you won't need that thick of a case.

I don't understand the hype of thin phones, I have the 6 plus but I wish it was this size but a little heftier. They just don't feel that durable. I mean they are they just feel like a piece of aluminum and glass. Which it is but I liked the boxy edges of the 4. But who knows. Apparently Apple is all knowing of the consumer so if they keep dishing them I'll keep buying every 3 years. I'm trapped like most of you under their spell

Seems like it will be a pretty good phone to be honest, though I am an apple fanboy.
