Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 to support dedicated servers

4.6
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will feature a very intuitive lobby system and dedicated server support for all of its online modes.

The upcoming revival of the Pro Skater series looks to be taking advantage of the power and connectivity available in the new consoles. The game’s developer Robomodo revealed today that all online game sessions are hosted on dedicated servers.

Freeskate levels are the game’s version of lobbies. It’s a place where up to 20 players can hang out and skate while waiting for a game to start. It’s also where everyone will return between sessions.

In addition, PlayStation versions of the game will get some exclusive content, in the form of three character heads. The blog also revealed that the online features will only be available on new-gen versions, as the older versions won’t even support online play.

This is pretty cool, it will be nice to have another skating game out there especially for next gen. Be interesting to see how this one comes out after their flop with the whole motion board they tried to do the last game.
