Xbox One gets new firmware today

It’s been a quiet few months at Microsoft camp when it comes adding new features to the Xbox One’s OS. This month is not too different, unfortunately.

Major Nelson announced the new update with a short message. The reason is because it doesn’t bring any new user-facing features, only behind-the-scenes work.

Mianly, it further prepares the console for game streaming, which launches with Windows 10 this month. It also prepares the console for the backwards compatibility feature.

Major Nelson adds that the Xbox team is focused on the upcoming UI overhaul, which is due in the fall.

Any update is good imo, but in all honesty, they should bring more features to their users

Just glad its going to be smooth and fast. Always hated the lag when trying to be fast with switching screens..

Hopefully the big update at the end of the year will be good and sort the part issues

I don't seem to have troubles with party chat, but would be nice to see that fixed, for the people have it.
