Minecraft 1.9 Screenshots and Details, Ender gateway, End city dungeon

4.6
At Minecon, Mojang listed a wealth of new features that would be coming to Minecraft in future updates. Dual wielding will allow players to equip items in both hands, or allow left handed players use the left hand as their main. Shields will also be added soon, allowing for more defensive options. Enchanted arrows are also coming, though Mojang is still balancing out the different types. An example of arrows are a poison arrow, spectral arrow, and glow arrow, the latter of which highlights the enemy and allows you to track it down.

The UI will soon display buffs at the top right corner of the screen, with positive buffs on the top and negative on the bottom. The End area is going to receive a much larger landmass to explore. The End will also have End City which requires a bit of vertical jumping to explore. A new enemy type, called Shulker, who can shoot out projectiles that will levitate you when hit. The Ender dragon will be an actual fight now on PC, and Ender Crystals can be used to respawn the dragon but you won’t receive another Ender egg. End Gateways are how you will reach these new areas in the expanded End area.

Finally, the mobile version of Minecraft will be receiving a lot of the PC and console version features such as: hunger and XP bars, anvils, controller support, the ability to move the UI around, The Nether, ocelots, dynamic weather, cobblestone, redstone, and sprinting and crouch options.

I really like the idea of different arrows with different effects. I am not to excited about how they expanded the end and added the dungeons but the purple blocks look really neat for some new creations.

TheRepGame This looks awesome, I like how xbox consoles have caught up with PC updates

What do you mean? The consoles versions are like 10 versions behind PC. They haven't had a update in a long time. The features in the last update is only equal to PC 1.6.4 with a few features of 1.8, this is stuff for minecraft 1.9 on PC. We are quite behind on consoles sadly.

DeluxeHazard I am curious to how shields will work in Minecraft. It has changed so much since when I played it.
My guess is it is going to be much like you block with a sword, it will stay at your side but then you can use the action key to move it up and block, it will be fun to use on horses to like joust and to have it as your left hand weapon.

Sage Minecraft is no longer a simple game it saddens me :( I was always happy to get diamonds and be like this is end game but now im like gotta go kill a dragon and fight some wither shit ...ect

It's still the same game where you can play simply. Sure there's all this new stuff but you don't have to do it, you can still mine for diamonds and build whatever you want without doing it. I've never even attempted to kill the ender dragon yet I can still play Minecraft for what it (originally) is.

NoH Even though I like hearing that Microsoft is updating the PC version of the game I wish they would focus as much attention on the Xbox, and PlayStation versions. But I understand that PC is more important because they make $20 dollars a year from players while they only make one $20 dollar payment from Xbox and PlayStation users.

Mojang are the people who work on the PC version. Microsoft just owns it now and have no part in the developing of it at the moment. I also don't know where you're getting that they make $20 a year from PC players. It has always been a one time payment even before they bought it.

Been waiting a while for it to be implemented.
