Windows 10 Preview owners can keep it free forever

Hey you - listen up! We all know that people that own Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 get a free upgrade to Windows 10 this July, when Microsoft’s new flagship OS is released, but now there’s a way for absolutely anyone to score the same deal.

If you download and install the Windows 10 Preview build, and register it to your Microsoft account, you’ll also receive the free upgrade to the real deal once it’s out. This means that even if you’re running Windows Vista, Windows XP or even haven’t got an OS at all, you can get Windows 10 for free.

What are you waiting for?

The offer was made clear via Microsoft’s Windows blog.

“Windows Insiders running the Windows 10 Insider Preview (Home and Pro editions) with their registered MSA connected to their PC will receive the final release build of Windows 10 starting on July 29th. This will come as just another flight. I've gotten a lot of questions from Windows Insiders about how this will work if they clean installed from ISO. As long as you are running an Insider Preview build and connected with the MSA you used to register, you will receive the Windows 10 final release build and remain activated. Once you have successfully installed this build and activated, you will also be able to clean install on that PC from final media if you want to start over fresh.”

Kaneki Downloading the preview now! Pretty excited for dx12 and getting Win10 for free on July 29th.

They retracted the statement, you do not get Win10 free with the preview edition.

You must of not read the whole thing, yes Windows 10 Preview Owners get Windows 10, but Windows 10 Preview tester must stay opted in to future preview updates. Once you opt out of future preview updates your version will become non genuine once the next build is released.

NDSxFTW I'm going to continue with my tinfoil hat and not get Windows 10 because last year or the year before the FBI wanted back doors in every piece of hardware. I feel like Microsoft is sucking their dick on this one

They don't need back doors in new software or hardware. They can see what you're doing already any time they want.

There's "Preview" versions which are the "Beta" if you want to call it that.
