E3 2015 attracted 52K visitors, 2016 show dated

E3 2015 was a tremendous show full of excitement for all kinds of gamers (except maybe Wii U fans hoping for blockbuster reveals).

The trade event attracted over 52,200 visitors this year, organiser Electronic Software Association said in a press release. That’s up from 48,000 at E3 2014.

Visitors from 109 countries checked out over 1,600 products from 300 exhibitors, and social media engagement broke records on Twitter (6.3 million posts), Instagram (7.5 million likes), Twitch (1 million concurrent viewers) and YouTube (over 1 million videos posted).

“More than any other E3, this year was about the gamer,” ESA CEO and president Michael D. Gallagher said.

“E3 demonstrated both the remarkable transformation of entertainment taking place on all video game platforms—virtual reality, augmented reality, hardware, mobile and handheld, and awesome games.

“As a driving force for technological and entertainment trends across the globe, the video game industry clearly demonstrated how it is revolutionizing the way people consume, engage and interact with media.”

E3 2016 is scheduled for June 14 through 16, and will once more be held in the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Would love to go to E3 but not worth paying a ticket to go to America to actually go.
